Have you ever thought about what will happen to you if you find yourself in a car that is driving along a bumpy road or the edge of an abyss, and the driver falls asleep because of being very tired? Or imagine another situation: you are at the wheel of a car driving along a bumpy road and the edge of an abyss. You haven’t slept all night, you are tired and weak, and you have to drive the car yourself as no one can drive it.
You sit in the car, hold the wheel with both hands and realize that you have to drive it to your destination. And suddenly … you fall asleep … Can you imagine a car falling into the abyss? … Can you imagine yourself in that car? …
I am not describing a scene from a horror movie. I saw the car falling into the abyss in a vision. That vision was so real that I felt the process of it rolling, colliding with rocks and falling into the abyss. Then the vision disappeared. While I was terrified thinking that it was the result of a TV program that I had watched the previous evening, I heard a command clearly: DO NOT FALL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. I looked around in surprise.
I was alone at home and there was no one. I started praying and realized that it was a heavenly vision. The Lord went on to say: “Many people know how dangerous it is for both the driver and those in the car, when the driver falls asleep at the wheel. However, very few people can imagine that they are at the wheel of their life. But we must always be alert: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV).
The dormant state of the car driver, driving along the edge of an abyss, can last 1-2 or maybe 4-5 minutes but how irreversible can the incident be when a person is asleep! Many Christians are “sleeping” not only for days and weeks but also for years. And the tragedy lies in the fact that not only they are standing on the brink of destruction because of their dormant state but also those under his responsibility.
They pray neither for themselves nor even for their children, nor for their spouses, nor for the problems that are accumulating day by day. They think that one day it will get better, and so they live with the hope of seeing good things come without realizing that in order to have those good things they should always be alert and cooperate with the Lord.
They do not realize that their dormant state leads both them and those who are under his responsibility to the abyss, and problems, like weeds, are growing fast and suppressing the dreams and hopes they once had. Go, shake them up and cry out: “People, do not fall asleep at the wheel of your life! You are rolling down the abyss…”.
